Irving’s Plumbing offers high efficiency sewage pumps at wholesale prices. Designed for pumping sewage and/or waste water in places where the septic system is higher than the home’s main drain, our sewage pumps will pass the wastewater with solids through a discharge line without cutting or grinding them. In a typical sewage system, the wastewater moves through a main drain into a holding tank where the sewage pump is located. A float switch wired to the pump acts an automatic switch, and turns the pump on and off as the level in the holding tank rises and falls. Since these pumps move sewage as well as water, they are rated for the size of solids they can move as well as how much water they can lift.
Main Features
The most important features to consider when choosing a sewage pump includes its 1) horsepower rating, 2) its maximum discharge flow – the flow the pump is designed to generate, 3) the maximum discharge pressure, the pressure the pump is meant to produce, and 4) the size of the discharge outlet connection.
Applications
Sewage pumps have a number of distinct applications: pumping small to large solids, to moving wastewater at large flow rates or high pressures, to simply pumping up water off the floor or the bottom of a tank. Depending on the design of the pump, some can be used for handling just water, for moving solids like sand or moving water in an irrigation system.
