Submersible
Pumps
Irving's Plumbing distributes submersible pumps for a variety
of applications. A submersible pump is a water pump designed to be fully
immersed within a tank or storage water container. The pump's motor is
usually sealed in oil-filled cavity protected from contacting the water.
A submersible pump is used to move water or waste water from a lower pressure
area to higher pressure area, and overcomes this difference in pressure
by adding energy to the process using a motorized pumping system.
Main Features
The most important features to consider when choosing a submersible pump
includes its 1) horsepower rating, 2) its maximum discharge
flow - the flow the pump is designed to generate, 3) the maximum discharge
pressure, the pressure the pump is meant to produce, and 4) the size
of the discharge outlet connection.
Applications
Submersible pumps have a number of distinct applications: pumping large
solids or grinding solids to smaller sizes, to moving wastewater at large
flow rates or high pressures, to simply pumping up water off the floor
or the bottom of a tank. Depending on the design of the pump, some can
be used for handling sewage, for moving solids like sand or moving water
in an irrigation system.

S37
|
Designed for handling problem areas in new home construction,
Liberty's S37 Submersible Sump Pump is powered by a heavy duty
1/3 hp motor. With larger large clearances around the impeller,
the S37 offers superior solids and debris handling. (1/3 hp, 1 1/2"
Discharge and 1/4" Solids-handling)
Main Features
- Rugged and quiet 1/3 hp motor. Oil filled, thermally protected.
- Permanently lubricated upper and lower ball bearings.
- 1/4" solids-handling with higher intake screening- helps reduce
debris from entering the pump compared to bottom suction designs.
- Cast iron motor plate.
- High suction ports to reduce potential jamming.
- High capacity flow rates.
- Heavy-duty vertical style float switch.
- Bi-directional dual lip shaft seal.
- 1-1/2" NPT discharge.
- Thermoplastic vortex style impeller with improved clearances
for better debris handling.
- 10' power cord.
- Water directed flow in cast motor plate allows for improved
cooling of motor.
- Vertical mechanical float switch with heavy-duty contacts.
- Stainless steel fasteners o High head- 25' shut off.
Weight: 14 lbs.
Height: 13"
Major Width: 9 3/4"

247
|
One of the most advanced 1/4 hp sump pumps available, Liberty's
247 Cast Iron Submersible Sump Pump features a unique one-piece
cast iron housing with peripheral port suction. This design eliminates
the motor seal ring and helps reduce potential jamming from debris.
Other features on the 240-series include a quick-disconnect power
cord and Liberty's patented VMF switch technology for smaller sump
pits (model 247). (1/4 hp, 1 1/2" Discharge and 1/4" Solids-handling)
Main Features
- Rugged 1/4 hp motor (15V 6.0 amps 60Hz 3400 RPM), oil filled
with thermal overload protection
- 1/4" solids handling
- 1-1/2" discharge
- Hermetically sealed motor and switch cavities, and permanently
lubricated bearings
- Liberty's UNI-BODY casting - a solid, one-piece housing that
eliminates the lower motor seal ring found on other pumps
- Integral, mid-mounted "peripheral-port" inlets - eliminate bottom
suction of debris and foreign material
- Stainless steel volute intake plate, internally mounted. Will
not corrode
- 8 vane, glass reinforced thermoplastic impeller. Non-clog design
- Quick-disconnect 10' standard power cord allows replacement
of cord in seconds without breaking seals to motor. (25' length
optional)For 25' cord option, add a"-2" suffix to model number.
Example: 247-2 for Model 247 with 25' cord.
- Fasteners - all non-corrosive stainless steel
- Stainless steel rotor shaft
Weight: 21 lbs.
Height: 10"
Major Width: 9.0" (manual model 240)
